The orientation phase takes place shortly before the start of your own studies and includes a number of events organized by us. This phase serves to help you connect with other students of your own and higher semesters even before the actual start of your physics studies. To this end, we also organize small games evenings and a campus tour, during which you will get to know the TU Dortmund campus – primarily the North Campus, as this is where you will spend most of your time.
In addition to this program, there is also the more technical pre-course program. This deals with the potential review and preparation of material for the upcoming first semester. You can find out more about this on the pre-course page.

Informational event followed by a game night
At our informational events, you will learn everything you need to know to start your studies so that you can start your courses on October 7, 2024! Please also bring your own questions, we will be happy to discuss them with you.
This will be followed by an analog and a digital games evening, where we will play various small games with you so that you can get to know each other a little, because you will be working closely together in small groups during your studies, so stay with us after the event and get to know your new fellow students!
Pub Crawl
Especially at the beginning of your studies, you long for a balance after a long day at university. During the pub crawl, we will take you on an evening tour of Dortmund’s city center in small guided groups and visit a few pubs where you can end the day with a few friends after a stressful week.
Campus rally and entrants bbq
On the day of the campus rally, we will take you on a journey across the North Campus, where you will get to know the most important places at the university in a fun way. As the campus is quite large, our little tour will take a little longer.
We will then arrive at our and your future faculty at around 6pm. In the meantime, the event representatives of the student representative council have already fired up the barbecue. Sausages in a bun will be grilled, and vegan and vegetarian options will also be available. A few cool crates of beer or soft drinks will also be available, so please take a small cup with you if necessary.
